RE: Genturi for aqua/hydro hot

I just finished making an adaptor to put my gen-turi on my 3x1.5in Hydro-Hot exhaust but I don't know how to put the picture in to show you how it looks. "bsprague" uses one on his round hydro-hot exhaust with a round size-up adaptor.

American Clipper

I am looking at a 1976 American Clipper for my kids to share for vacations. It is on a Dodge chassis with a 360cid motor and torgueflite trans 120,000 miles on it but only 40,000 on mopar replacement motor and serviced trans. All appls. work plus a roof AC. The dash air is there but not working (R-12 is probably gone will have to update to R-134a or replacement. The tires are 9 years old so I know they will have to be replaced. I am very familiar with Ford and GM class C chassis but not Dodge. What should I look for or pay special attention to as I check this thing out? I seem to remember something about the hydro-boost brakes being something of a headache/nightmare. Thanks, Marty

RE: CB antenna Side Mount, Do you have one on your rig ?

I put a side mount on my last MH. You just have to be sure you fasten it to metal to get a ground plane or go with a no ground plane antenna. All my CB antenna's have been "FIRESTIK" and they work well.

RE: will 20 AMPS BE SUFFICIENT

I did exactly what you want to do five years ago. It works just fine as long as you don't over load it.

RE: Vacuum gague???

As to a vacuum gauge working on modern engines I lean to them not. I took the vacuum gauge off of my 1978 GMC truck (carburated) and put it on a 91 Ford (throttle body injected) and it did not read correctly. The vacuum pulses are much different at RPM ranges. This was confirmed by a local dyno shop owner.

RE: RV Alarm and/or "Scare Them Off" system

The Alpine alarm that is on my MH has impact and radar sensors that have adjustable capabilities (sensitivity) and can be set to flash lights and or sound horns.

RE: Looking at Jeep Wrangler Toad

I have a 2002 Wrangler as a toad and it is our 3rd(95&99). We have towed all of them and they are eazy to tow and hook up. We use a Stowmaster 5000 tow bar and a Brake Buddy for brakes. Ours have all been 5spd. but automatics are availlable. The auto will not have an overdrive, just a lock-up converter. If you decide on a Wrangler you will need (I think) to get a rack to carry the kayak because even the hard tops are not that strong. Our old 4cyl. only got 1 more mpg than the 6cyl. and if we were climbing hill with the AC on we would have to turn it off until we got to the top. Stay with the 6cyl.

RE: Welding ... Preparations to take?

Spend a few minutes and disconnect both or all the battery terminals that go to the chassis. It is just NOT worth taking a chance. It could be VERY EXPENSIVE to repair!

RE: Cut rate auto parts

Had the same thing happen to me years ago on a 1986 Class C. Only thing was, Hayden had a regular duty clutch in a heavy duty box and wouldn't stand by it. Went to a GM dealer and got the right part. Don't you just hate it when that kind of thing happens? Glad your all fixed now. Marty

RE: Parts

Sometimes but not always the coach manufacturer adds the air conditioning compressor and not the chassis manufacturer. That adds the extra length to your belt. I try to get the number off of the existing belt or belts that way you know they will fit. Good luck Marty

RE: Camping in West Yellowstone - traveling East To SD.

HWY 14 is steep with many switchbacks. My old Beaver MH had a rear mount radiator and came close to overheating several times(summer heat). Had I known it was so steep at the begining I would have dropped the toad and had my wife drive it to the top. Very nice scenery.

RE: Glacier to Anacortes, WA

Ron, Where did you stay at in West Glacier? My wife and I are leaving next saturday to stay at the KOA in West Glacier for 4 days. If you stay at the Fidalgo Bay campground it's a nice place and a good starting point to tour Whidbey Island and maybe the Naval Air Base. Marty

RE: What are "Cardlocks"?

Dynasty40, you can get a reciept by re-inserting your card in the card reader after you pump your fuel. Just slide it in and pull it out, it then asks "receipt yes or no" push yes and it prints right there at the card reader. Works at every PAC-PRIDE I've been to. Marty

RE: Leaking Air Bag

If you have jack stands or blocks of wood that can handle the weight and tools you could do it yourself. If it were mine I'd try. Bring it up to ride hieghth then block it up. Release the air and that should take all the weight off the suspension and relieve air pressure from the bag. Don't try it if your not sure you can do it. Very dangerous without the right tools.
